Welcome to Grasmere Primary School

Welcome to the Grasmere Primary School Website.

Grasmere Primary School is located 15 kilometres north of Warrnambool.  Grasmere has been identified as the school likely to cater for the northern subdivisions springing up around Grasmere and Mailors Flat.  With this in mind, a state of the art school complex was opened in May 2010 and the student numbers have grown rapidly to a current enrolment of 75 students.

The students are educated in a vibrant and challenging atmosphere where the values of respect, responsibility and fairness are interwoven with the 'You Can Do It' program of resilience, getting along, and being organised.  We work together as a union of parents, teachers and students to focus on improving our teaching practice and student learning, whilst developing even stronger links with the surrounding community.

The school offers a comprehensive curriculum program with a strong commitment to the teaching and learning of literacy and numeracy.  These are taught along with specialist programs such as music, drama, science, health, art, LOTE, a kitchen garden program and an inquiry based approach to the study of society and the environment.

We have a large number of parent volunteers and pride ourselves on small group teaching to students at their point of need with regular access to specialist support when required.  The close connection that students and parents have to the school, in particular their teachers, allows ample opportunity for any concern to be addressed immediately.  The school has a strong focus on student wellbeing, extracurricular academic (debating, public speaking, leadership programs, and tournament of minds) and sporting activities to provide opportunities for every student.

The school has 1 Principal, 4 Teachers and 0.9 Educational Support Staff.

Safe, Supportive, Successful… when small schools think big.
