Grasmere Primary School OSHC

Grasmere PS OSHC is a school based ran before and after school care program.  We offer 15 spots per session.  Parents are encouraged to park in the main carpark – staff or turning circle to drop off or pick up students.  We offer care throughout the School Terms.  A holiday program will be offered at the neighbouring School – Woodford PS.  Families will need to be enrolled in both services – all through the Kidsoft software.

Operating Hours
Before School – Monday to Friday 6:30am – 8:45am
After School – 3:30pm – 6:00pm

At Grasmere PS OSHC, we provide a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where children feel a strong sense of belonging. As a school-based service in a small country town community, we value the strong connections between children, families, educators, and the wider school community.

Our philosophy is grounded in the belief that children are capable, curious, and active participants in their learning and leisure time. We aim to foster their independence, creativity, and social development through play-based and interest-driven experiences.

With a dedicated team of three consistent educators, we prioritise strong, respectful relationships with every child and their family. This small team model allows us to deeply understand each child’s needs, interests, and strengths, and provide individualised care that supports their wellbeing and development.

We are guided by the principles of the My Time, Our Place Framework:

  • Secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships – We build trusting relationships with children and families, encouraging open communication and a sense of community.
  • Partnerships – We work collaboratively with the school and families to create a shared approach to children's care and development.
  • High expectations and equity – We promote inclusion, embrace diversity, and support all children to grow with confidence and resilience.
  • Respect for diversity – We celebrate the unique cultures, values and backgrounds of our families and local community.
  • Ongoing learning and reflective practice – As educators, we are committed to continuous improvement and reflective practice to ensure a high-quality program.

We believe that OSHC should be a place where children feel safe to explore, build friendships, take ownership of their play and learning, and simply enjoy being children. We aim to provide a relaxed, home-like atmosphere before and after school, where children can unwind, try new things, and develop life skills through meaningful experiences.
